Hey guys,

i just finished my build and i had a couple questions for you all. First ill get into the specs:

e6300 C2D $187

Biostar tforce945p mobo $54

WINTEC AMPO ddr2 667 1gb $84

250gb barracuda $75

Sapphire x1900gt $129

Logisys 550w acrylic PSU 25a on 12v $40

Raidmax case $20 (skimped out here ha)
samsung dvd burner $30

Everything went together fine. I have the most recent bios on the motherboard.

The ram is detected as ddr2 667 in bios, however, cpu-z shows the ram as 333mhz with an 8:7 ratio? does that sound normal?

my 3dmark06 score with demo settings is 4705. how does that score sound?

Your RAM is correct - DDR2 is double data rate so clock speed of 333 times 2 = 667

that was a nice job puttin that together, and the power supply might be cuttin it close, but thats fine 8) 8) 8) 8)

yeah i figured it was something along those lines. Thanks

thanks, yeah i figure at this point, the psu will hold me over for a while

You are the first person to buy the Wintec Ampo RAM from newegg other than me that I have seen here. What do you think of it?

the heatsink is awesome. it has not given me any troubles and seems to be fairly easy to overclock, but i;m not looking to push it or the cpu yet since i just built it yesterday...gotta give it some break in time

looks like a good psu, but since mine is already built...

but i will keep it in mind for some other builds

id say your rig is just fine man, a score like that in 3dmark06 puts other budget systems to shame. Very good choices as far as budget hardware is concerned. You might consider overclocking a bit to put some energy into that processor, get it from purring to roaring.

thanks man, overclocking is def in the future but like i said, i want to give the components some break in time first. i also need to decipher these broken english biostar bios haha

Tell me if you have success in overclocking with that RAM. I'm too scared to try right now.

For $600 gaming rig thats pretty nice. Enjoy and happy gaming.

hhaha finally some ppl with wintek ampo i have the same ram too. Its awsome and extremely easy to o/c. I have a p4 and it keeps up good with a 4.16 ghz o/c on my 3.40ghz p4. Yeah i could go farther but my cpu is limiting me not the ram So this ram is great for o/c just set it to 533mhz in bios so you could get a way better o/c and set ram timings to 5/5/5/15
February 8, 2007 7:40:31 PM

if o/c is stable enough i guess you could raise ram speed higher than 533 depends on your o/c

where did you get that mobo and mem at such good prices?
February 8, 2007 10:04:46 PM

yeah yeah thats not a priority ha
February 8, 2007 10:07:03 PM

what did the motherboard come with?
February 8, 2007 10:08:40 PM

just the box and the board

February 8, 2007 10:15:17 PM
