Hey, so I have this logitech headset and I just built a new PC and have installed Vista Ultimate 32-bit version onto it. My problem is i cannot get my PC to register my headset microphone. I am currently using the built in sound card on the EVGA 680i board. I don't think it is a problem with my sound card though I think i am just having a tough time setting up Vista to register that I have a mic hooked up.

So here is what I'm currently doing to try and set up my mic. See if you can help me figure out what I am doing wrong.

First I go into the control panel, access Hardware and Sound, go to Sound, and then manage audio devices, and from there I go to Recording.

Now my Computer case is a Thermaltake armor case. For those who dont know it has front USB ports and Headphone jacks. But i didnt really need it and didnt want to bother wiring it so i removed it. But in the Recording section 2 Microphones show up. And if you go into properties of both of these mics in the jack information section one says: Front Panel 3.5 mm Jack, and the other says Rear Panel 3.5 mm jack. So what I did is went to device usage for the one that said front panel and just disabled it.

Now In the rear panel mic I went to levels and made sure that the mic wasnt muted and i also maxed out the microphone volume and boost.

Then I went back to the recording menu, clicked on the mic icon and then clicked the "Configure" button.

From there I went to Set up microphone, then it asks what kind of mic it was so i said headset, then it tells you to read off a sentence so it can record it and test you mic volumes or something.

So my problem is that no sound comes out of my microphone...

I've been trying a bunch of different things and at one point I did get it working for a second but accidentally closed out of the program and it went back to not working. So this makes me believe that I'm just setting it up wrong and need some helping fixing it.

Anyways thanks for taking time to read this, i know its kinda long. Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.
