Question:

My assignment is to download critical updates to an
intranet that has 100 client workstations and 7 servers
without Internet connectivity due to security
classification issues. My organization uses SUS to
download updates from the Internet but, unable to upload
updates to their workstations due to policy restrictions.
I've tried burning the updates to a CD and uploading it to
the intranet, but it didn't work. I've done some research
on the issue but didn't have any success in solving the
problem. Can you please give me any tips on how to fix
this problem? ASAP

Hi

You could set up another SUS server in your non-Internet connected
network.

When the Internet-connected SUS server have downloaded all
the updates from the Internet, you can copy the SUS content
of this server (using some form of removable media e.g. CD-ROM
or DVD) to the offline SUS server.

That would be the "Manually-Configured Content Distribution Point" part of the
chapter "Synchronizing Content With Another Server Running Software Update
Services or Manually-Configured Content Distribution Point" in
SUS_Deployguide_sp1.doc if I am not mistaken.

Note that it is a error in the documentation:

Here is another way it looks like:

Fyi, there is a separate newsgroup for SUS:

URL to the group softwareupdatesvcs for those who uses the Web
interface to access the newsgroups:

Burn the updates to CD. You say that didn't work, but you don't give
any information to help resolve the issues for you.

Install SUS on my server, and created registry keys on the client workstation but was unable to download critical updates from the server to the workstation without Internet connectivity (Due to security issues). How can I get critical updates to point to my client workstation without Internet connectivity?

As Jeff said, you need to be more specific about what you are doing.
You don't need internet access to use an internal SUS server just port 80
access - but if you are blocking port 80, that would be the problem. There
are other ways to block internet access without blocking port 80.
As Torgeir said, there is a better NG for SUS questions.
