7800gs or 7600gt agp?

Which is faster 7800gs or 7600gt agp? Spec wise the 7800gs has more pipeline and slower gpu but 256 bits. Is the 7800 gs fast in most games and etc or the 7600gt's gpu much newer and advance which offset the advantage? Newegg has these priced very close after rebate and thought i'd hear some opinion first.

Or should I just get the 7600gs since it's $100 after rebate and best value?

They're pretty close with a slight edge going to the 7800GS. For the same price I'd go for the 7800GS.

with that rebate newegg got goin on the 7800 i say it's a deal. although the xfx 7600 now has a rebate too of 30 bones witch drops it to 144.99. i'm gonna go for the xfx 7600 just as soon as my returns are direct deposited into my account. that and a 20.1 inch lcd and i'm done with this old rig!

You can overclock the living snot out of the 7800 GS! I have a frined that has one. He has it overclocked to almost the same speeds as my 7950GT.

So, I would go with the 78OOGS.

Howdy. The graphics market is so confusing at times and makes it hard to pick a card without research out the yang. Anyone would think the 7800gs would beat a 7600gt in a dual just by logic in general.
Here is a site that list them both and it shows the 7600GT ahead of the 7800gs in every game. Check this site out. I have 2 buddies that have the 7800gs and you cant go wrong for sure. But check this anyhow.
