I just started to use KaZaA and so far it kicks arse.

Just get the light version.

My personal website, chock full of tips and other computer stuff. No ads, banners, or catches. It's currently based on Windows XP, but Windows 2000 stuff to come.

I used to use Morpheus until the SE came out it sucks!! Now I use Kazaa but it seems to have a few bugs in it or something. When ever I am running it it always seems to feeze periodically. What is wrong w/ it. Should I re download it from a different sight?

I posted a decent KazaaLite site that works quickly, without a bunch of popups, in your other post.

I get a majority of my mp3's off of newsgroups, as I'm more likely to get the whole album and downloads are much faster.

If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first.
I'm too busy acting like I'm not naive, I've seen it all, I was here first

WinMX here. Works, no pop ups, and, so I'm told, no spyware.

All of the file sharing apps are essentialy the same, but Kazaa has a bigger community. Kazaa installs nasty spyware if you don't use the Lite/Diet Version though.

hey guys, where can you find the lite edition, I had never heard of it before these posts and was always worried about that spyware. I went to Kazaa's site but there was no mention of it. Is it a modified version made by a third party?

www.buymp3.org
It's not actually a site but an online store.
They have full albums in mp3 format on cds.
They send this stuff from Russia where apparently it all operates on a legal basis.
I got the whole anthology of Led Zeppelin on 3 CDs recorded with pretty good quality.
As for downloads - Kazaa is a good choice
Edonkey is good for full albums, movies, videos. You gotta have cable for this.

In Russia, away from the capital, you can buy stuff on the black market cheap. Movies, software, music, etc. It's all out on the street before you can ever buy it or watch it in the USA. That's not to say any of it is legal. It's just not being enforced except in Moscow where they're trying to keep a clean image.
