Looking to move to PCI-E from AGP. Have a 939 X2 3800 and some fairly high end OCZ DDR400 that I want to try to use. Am looking for a mainboard that is a good overclocker for the 3800. May possibly upgrade later to highest 939 available later.

Looking at maybe a ASUS A8n32X-sli or DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert motherboards. Looking to find a board that is well known to be a good overclocker. Any suggestions or comments regarding the 2 boards I listed.

In the mean time I will keep reading for more info for this.

Thanks in advance to anyone with the 411

if you will go sli in near future then asus must be choice because of its ability to run both cards at 16x. but dfi is the socket 939 overclock champion. İf you don't think sli then dfi is a must.

There are several boards that will OC well with that CPU. It depends on if you want to run a single video card or if you want to go SLI or Crossfire.

Single video card solutions:

I have an Asus A8N-E that has an overclocked AMD 4000 Sandy that runs at 2.76 GHZ very stable (no problems). Also just picked up an ABIT AT8-32X and have started to OC a opteron 185 and this board works well but I am not using the U-guru software that is included with the motherboard because of stability issues with the software (info based on forum feedback). Good luck.

One of the best that I almost bought is Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe: First ATI RD580. Very fast, chipset does not generate too much heat. I have one MSI K8N Diamond NF4 Ultra that I am not satisfied and I almost bought that one to replace mine. But I have changed my mind and I buy a Core 2 with a ASUS P5W Deluxe.

See this link below.

DFI doesnt do true 2x16SLI for 939? It may not be a future consideration but you never know.

EDIT: If I go DFI - SLI what would be the choice. I am leaning on this one
DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert Socket 939

Do ALL DFI's pretty much clock well?
