I'm looking for a home NAS... so far the DLink DNS-323 looks good for what want, but I thought I'd ask here if there were good/bad experiences with the HP MediaVault.

The two units appear to be similar feature-wise. I priced both and the DLink is cheaper, but not by a huge amount (at 300GB).

There are limited reviews for the HP system, is this system any good?

Thanks in advance.

[edited: I goofed and called it storagevault. This was a brain fart pure and simple.]

The stragevault is more of an enterprise|SMB backup solution. Your most likely referring to the HP Media Vault, which is actully prettry decent if your price out dollars to gigs and hardware. I would go with HP.

Both units are supposed to be pretty good. The Thecus N2100 is similar as well in terms of specs and features.

There is a un-official page for the MediaVault run by the HP project architect. http://www.k0lee.com/hpmediavault/
