GPU-dedicated power supplies

In terms of wattage, which pci port mounted, peripheral GPU-dedicated power supply would be required to run the high end nvidia or ATI video cards?

Say a X1950XT. About 450 watts - preferably more. Dedicated, 300w imo as these are cheap.
Though, your going to need sufficient amperage on the +12 volt rail. This is just as important. 25 amps and again - preferably more. Dedicated may be around 20a to be safe.

look at power supply suppliers, not just the pc atx ones, whichever one you find be sure to tie the dc grounds together to avoid any potential ground loops that could fry the card
