So basically, I upgraded my aging P4 2.8GHz CPU with a shiny new Core 2 Duo E6600 and ASRock 775Dual-VSTA Motherboard. I installed it all last night, first by deleting any programs I could find on the hard drive that were related to the old motherboard, then powering down and taking out the old motherboard and CPU, installing the new motherboard and CPU and plugging all the cables and cards back in.

When powering up, I went straight into BIOS to check the settings there matched my components which they seemed to do. The problem though, is that when the computer starts to boot up, I keep on being greeted by a nasty blue screen of death! Having seen this and not being able to work out what was wrong I unplug everything except the graphics card and main HD but still the same problem came up. I also tried using just one stick of RAM but that didn’t seem to make any difference. Is anyone able to help!

If it’ll help, the blue screen message I get is this:

STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF798E528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

The rig:
Core 2 Duo E6600
ASRock 775Dual-VSTA
1x512MB DDR + 1x1GHz DDR
160GB HD
Enermax 350W
