I installed Vista beta drivers (no officials yet), adn I can enable 5.1 surround and EAX in control panel, but in any of my games (NWN2, Medieval2, Oblivion, etc) EAX is disabled, hardware unrecognized. Is there a workaround for this?
Thnx

Check out creative's ALchemy project. They are working on a tool that will allow EAX for older games that don't support OpenAL. I'm going to give it a whirl once I get my PC put together.

ALchemy translates DX into Open AL so that you still have hardware accelerated audio and EAX under Vista. It supports major releases from last few years. I have seen some guys at nvnews tested it with loads of games,
there was some decent gain in FPS in a few games

... see if I can find the bloody link...
