I have a Samsung DLP & a Samsung TS-160 Directv Box. Also a Samsung DVD
connected with component video cables and a VCR connected via the video
connection. The box is connected via DVI and also S-cable (to watch non HD
on panorama mode). I have my wireless earphones (have a hearing problem)
connected to the audio out RCA plugins. They work fine on the S-cable
connection, antenna connection (I have basic cable also) and the VCR video
connection, howver they do not work on the DVI or component video
connection. Any ideas?

DVI and component video don't carry audio signals, so you have to connect
the audio along with them. When you use component video to get a picture,
you will have a total of 5 wires from your box to your TV. Likewise with
DVI, but you'll have 3 wires total.

The audio signal is generated inside the set cause it has to drive
the speakers, so Samsung could have easily connected audio from
the HD inputs to the audio out plugs, just like every other
TV manufacturer. For rerasons known only to Samsung, they choose not to,
thereby denying the customer an important free feature causing great
inconvience.
