Check this out! This panel made by NPS is currently selling where i live. It claims to have a 5ms response time, 500:1 contrast ratio, and 300cd brightness. Are all these really possible or jus overexagerated? Also it has a glass coating on the surface, as compared with plastic(?) for normal LCDs, making the image seem sharper and colours more vibrant.

I'm considering between this monitor (main draw is the glass screen, however no DVI) and the Eizo L365 (because of the DVI/VGA input). Does DVI have a great difference visually compared to normal VGA?

Visit this site for specs: http://www.gennett.com/eng/nps555.asp

And the site of the distributor in Singapore: http://www.gennett.com/eng/

However i could not find the official site of the company. That's why i'm a little doubious and suspicious of the specs.

If you go to the chinese section of http://www.gennett.com
you'll find out that the monitor NPS555 has a Sanyo panel.

Cross checking the featured monitor data with available Sanyo panels shows it is a TM150XG-26L06 panel.
The data sheet for this panel specifies:
Brightness: 350cd/m2 (typ)
Contrast: 400(typ)
response time, rise: 20ms (typ)
fall: 5ms (typ)

Additionally, the data sheets says it is a pseudo-8bit color panel (the true color resolution is only 6bit)

My comment:
-Nothing special;
-the rated response time for the monitor is *only* the fall
time (which is the shortest time in this case)
-the Eizo L365 is far better

Is the 5ms responstime as opening AND closing - or only opening?
I have the L365. The Picture is quite good over analog with my Matrox g450, but it is said, that the grafics card has something to say too. I know it can be even better though, but I don't think it will be much better.

Well as was stated earlier, it's only for falling. Response time is usually stated as rise/fall, I've never heard it opening and closing, but whatever.

My frog asked me for a straw...dunno what happened he's all over the place
