Socket 754 upgrade

My plan is to build a new computer at the end of this summer when the CPU wars stabilize a little bit between AMD and Intel.

I currently have an Athlon 64 3200 2.0 ghz cpu on an MSI K8T-NEO FIS2R mobo.

Would any of the available socket 754 CPU's available right now be a considerable upgrade? and if so, which one?

It's not worth to upgrade a S754 PC; all CPUs are single core and moreover, the 3200+ is among the best S754 CPUs you can find, the best being the 3700+ (almost unfindable adn too expensive nowadays).
so my advice woould be to spare some more money to get a cheap but a lot more decent X2 3600+ or 3800+ system.

Yeah, as m25 said, don't bother upgrading that system. Save your money for a future build.
