In my unqualified opinion, without knowing your other system specs, it at least to me sounds about right if you're at 1024x768 or 1280x1024. The plain vanilla 6600 wasn't much of a card from what I understand.
EDIT: Meaning it's hard to judge without knowing what you've got on your board. If you've got a 3200+ or better, and more than 512 mb of ram...yeah, it does then sound a bit low. Also depends on what else you have running in the background, and what the game graphics settings are.
If it's an Opteron compatible with that board, you won't need different ram. Or shouldn't. Can't think of any reason why you'd need different RAM if the processor will work in that board.
i can't really recommend a 7900gs at this price range cause it is about the same as a 1950gt and the pro beats it in most. the same with a 7900gt because your getting into 190+ and a x1950xt or 1900xt will be better for the dollar.
oh yeah you should have read this instead of asking us
nice nice, should come in very close to what i get in source with a x850xt, which is 100 nearly all the time with 4x aa and 16x af on all high. evga is also a good company so ive heard (have friends that are very happy with their cards from evga)
