Hello I have had my Axim x50v for a few months and love it, but I notice
that I have been having issues with connecting. I find that using the
"Travel Kit" and using the docking station it is becoming harder and
header to get a connection. Now it is almost impossible to connect with
the travel kit, or the second one they sent me.
Have people noticed connection degradation over time with this model?
Should I have Dell replace my PPC?

babboo - have you checked www.aximsite.com - the forums
there are great for this type of question - I also own
the same device, but am not familiar with this problem
Good luck!

Yup, I have a question in there too, but no responses so far.

Just out of curiousity - what is the "travel" kit - I
haven't seen it. I have the X50v also- had no problems
thus far (knocks-on-wood.

The travel kit is a x50v power/data to USB cord. Using this cord you
can sync the unit and get power through the USB connection, although not
as fast a charge as through the cradle. It also comes with two
attachments that the USB plugs into, one is a standard power connection
and one is a car charger.

Thanks, if I remember correctly - these are notorious for
being problematic. I think if you look back thru the NG,
you will see that the charge these supply just isn't
enough, and often the cables just aren't quality. I
stick with the cradle, and carry a spare battery - lasts
me all day - no problems.

Mostly I was hoping to avoid carrying around the bulky cradle on a daily
basis. I totally agree about the spare battery.

There are lots of these setups available, and I have purchased a number of
them over time. I have consistently had no problems with the AC adapters,
car adapters and retractable cords that are genuine ZipLinq. Those sold by
PPCTechs are also solid. Funny thing that those are the ones you pay a bit
more for. The bargains I have tried, often did not turn out to be so. I
would guess that those sold for the Dells, on Dell's site are going to work
for you.
