Which would you choose?
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2533689&sku=S458-1240%20A
or
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2533698&sku=I69-2132%20A

I am going to use this sytem as a media server (mostly) and wanted the Rad 5 support which both systems have. I think the onboard video of the Intel system would be sufficient (no?) for media server needs plus the MB supports DDR800. The ECS system comes with 1GB but only supports up to DDR667, and also i would need to buy a video card.

To compare more like apples i guess the numbers would look more like:
ECS E6400 system $569 + 7600GS $79 = $648
Intel E6600 System $589 + 1 GB DDR800 $99 = $688

But if i decide to do a bit of overclocking, would either of these MB be acceptible? Plus, I suspect the onboard video would not cut it in any games out there. Which to choose? THanks for you help.

Why dont you just build your own?? It says right in that add you have to put it togather yourself anyways. Looks like you still have to buy MEMORY, DRIVES, OS, whatever else.

Much cheaper for a basic case and PSU (newegg has about 350 cases for under $50), E6600 $316, and cheap mobo $50,cheap video card $50.

Hell you can put togather a E6300, GA-965P-S3, 1 gig of DDR 800(1st link only has 533), X1650pro, and case with pwr supply for $$590. I already have this list for myself. So for basically the same price you have GOOD components INCLUDING 1 gig of Gskill or some other NAME BRAND memory. Which your 2nd linked to setup doesnt even include. The board will definately OC if you choose to do so. Way better graphics, not that you need it. Hell you can buy comparable components to that barebones system and save about $150.

So my answer is a big fat NEITHER!!!

Dooh, well a little off but... I have been looking at this crap too late at night and i appear to have had a brain fart. I suspect the confusion started when i was looking at this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2848310&CatId=332
which actually is a good deal. From that point, i dont know what i was thinking. Thanks for clearing my head.

BTW, anyone wanting an 939 FX60 upgrade may want to consider this combo deal:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2851762&CatId=2020

which is cheaper then buying just the CPU:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=2792677&sku=CP2-A64-FX60

which much cheaper then new egg retail pricing:

He doesnt need a top of the line OVERPRICED mainboard. the GA-965P-DS3 is only $133, $80 less, and seems to consistantly over clock better than the DQ6. The Asus P5B-E is supposed to overclock even better than the DS3.
