I've been trying to connect to update NWN since last night and they don't
seem to be there anymore. I can't even get their home page.

I would like a refund for the inability of the past 24 hours to play
Pirates...

Should amount to pennies, but when you factor in the "emotional pain
and distress" it could well be in the $MILLIONS!!!

THIS is why 'authentication' is bull. I was actually a defender of
authentication until today. I am just about finished with PotSC, but
looks like it will not happen now. My wife is being induced tomorrow.
Was hoping to finish this today...

Thanks Bioware... My rating of PotSC just went from a 9.5 to a 0...

Servers might be down. None of their pages seem to be available, the NWN
updater doesn't work, and whenever I try playing one of the premium modules,
it just sits there waiting for authentication.

If anyone reading this group lives in Edmonton and near Bioware's offices,
maybe you could go knock on their door and let them know that something's
amiss?

not even halfway!

a LOT of gaming left. I think PotSC is well worth $10. I got at least
20 hours out of it.

Heck, a movie costs $10 nowadays and gives you 2 hours....

bioware is back up by the way. I am still miffed about the
authentication. I really don't understand why even on reloads it has
to check. Couldn't it check just once per day or something at the
most? It really hinders the experience.

The authentication aspect's definitely a pain in the butt, especially when
the servers go down, but I've got so many other modules, plus it's a really
nice day out over here, so it doesn't really bother me that I can't play
PotSC right now.

Incidentally, I just stole a bunch of wood from some troglodytes. Roughly
how far into the game am I?

"tarbox23" <mat@snet.net> once tried to test me with:

At the very least it should give you a pass for a day if the frickin'
servers are down.

The server FAT got corrupted somehow, they had to do a full server
restore. Hence the long down time.

Hmm, never thought of it that way. Interesting point.

It's how I justified paying for NWN, SoU and HotU. What with all the
excellent user mods out there, I've gotten (and continue to get) a
tremendous value for the $.

(Prolly nearing quite a few hundred hours! - and that's without
tinkering with my own mod)

Not to mention I'm currently running a PnP DnD campaign based on the
module "Infernal Crown: :)

to buy another PC game again !
