I've read that ATI wants 28A on 2 independent 12V rails. My Antec 430 True Power puts out 26A max on the 12V rail. I was wondering if getting Thermaltakes dedicated 250watt GPU PSU would be enough to do what I need. It is diffenately at the right price for me. Here is its specs:
http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/prod [...] /w0099.asp
OUTPUT
Voltage +12V1 & +12V2
Max. Load 21A (Peak Load: 25A)

Would the 25A be enough since it wouldn't be powering anything else? Or should I just upgrade my PSU? Thanks for any help!

You are most likely fine with your current psu unless you have a TON of other extra stuff also running off your psu.

thanks for the info. i'll just order the card now and if it ends up needing more power then i'll grab that dedicated PSU.

i am running 2 10k raptors raid 0, dvd burner, with a few usb devices... so i was unsure... i think if it works, it will be close.

i was running a x800 pro but it died on me. looking for something to replace it with and cannot swing a full system to go pci-e, yet.

thanks again :)
