I noticed the specs of the 8800GTS say that it is 9 inches long. http://www.newegg.com/product/prod [...] 6814130071

The width of the motherboard is 8.3 inches. http://www.newegg.com/product/prod [...] 6813128012

My question is will this card fit in mid tower cases or will I need to buy a full tower case for this build.

The mid tower case i was looking at was this one. http://www.newegg.com/product/prod [...] 6811146025

Any info on this or known cases that will work would be appreciated.

figures you would link me to that case. Iknow you are in love with that case but wont fit in this budget. I think you should just go ahead and buy it already. :lol:

Don't worry - the GTS fits the NZXT Apollo just fine, i have both. A GTX will for too.

Why didn't you just say "Here is the case i want/have" ?

They guy wanted to know whether the GTS would fit in the Apollo, what question were you answering?

That case should easily fit the OEM versions of the R600. Blowtorch and hammer sold separately.

Great post here at the MPC site. Granted the GPU is the X but the pics will help you. Apparently its not the mobo size as much as it is where the GPU will be relative to the hard drives and such. Good luck.

Cool man thanks that makes a lot more sense to me now. dude im building for is in good shape, but the gtx wont fit in my Raidmax Sagitta. Unless i do some modding. :lol: 8)

You might be ok. A size comparison of the GTX & GTS are on page 8 of that post. Your case is on page 2. Anyway, all you would have to do is remove that internal drive cage and either will fit.
