I am currently using windows 2000 pro sp2 and am trying to
download sp3. I keep getting an error that setup cannot
complete installation. Any suggestions. I have disabled
my antivirus software and retried . Same result.

Make sure you are logged in as a local administrator as shown when you run the " net
localgroup administrators command " that will display membership of the local
administrators group. The link below may or may not help but worth a look if you are
sure you are logged on as an administrator. If you are using ntfs permissions make
sure that system and administrators have full control permissions [ as shown in
properties/security] to the drive/root, program files, \winnt, and user profile
folder under documents and settings which are default permissions. --- Steve

Any particular reason why you're not installing SP4?

Oli

Actually, though not the same issue the original poster is having, I am
unable to install SP4 on system which runs an older ACU COBOL database. Is it
possible to secure a SP3 install as well as a SP4 one?
