Thought so, that's what SensorsViewPro31 showed at first on my new PC I put together over the weekend, I freeked out, smelled, rebooted, went into BIOS and saw 32 C... So after that I chose 2nd one of the 3 sensors that it users, 1st one was 254 C (missing sensor or what gives)?, 2nd one 32 C and 3rd 26 C (BIOS also shows 32 C)...

Now that I got your attention with a bit of shocking news (hey it's FOX News fault!), serious question if I may:

I got ZALMAN 9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16835118019
and it has a manual switch (knob) on the outside of PC case to regulate speed, you plug the fan into it, than it into the Mobo - when I have that plugged in - fan does not turn at all (blue led does not come on)...!?
When I disconnect that piece, and plug direct into Mobo - it works, like I said my E4300 (not OCed yet, will be shooting for 3Ghz),so at stock speed at 32 C (which I think it's good?). Also the Sensors View reports (and BIOS I think), fan speed at 800 RPM - can that be right??? It is REALLY quiet too (which is good), just wondering if I got a bad part and am running at lowest speed all the time?

Last, the fan (and the manual speed control knob) both have 3 PIN for power connector, my GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813128017
has 4 - but it plugs in usign the 3 fine...
[/code]
Am I doing everything OK here?
Thanks!!!

... use common sense.. i could ask my 10 year old sister "is 254 c too hot" and she would say "yes, its very hot"

next time think before you ask.

here google this

"254c to F"

then after you google that never ask a question like this again :p

Thanks. Yes 1st was a joke 2nd was serious but I got the answer to that - it was Mobo auto adjusting speed, disabled that in bios and its good...

Some people need to lighten up...

Yeah everything seem fine. I have never seen the E4300 run that hot but anyways aslong as its running smoothly with your new hsf then its should be no problemo.
