agp 6800 xt 256 mb dual monitor problem

Anyone know why my agp 6800 xt 256 mb dual dvi wont let me have both my tft's at 1440*900 ?

It only lets me have one at that res , and the other at maximum of 1280*1024. is this normal ? When I set it to 1440*900 the screen becomes a complete blur /mess of colours n shit ,like its trying , but cant hack it.

Both tft's are exactly the same model & native 1440*900.
If I swap the dvi' leads over , the oposite monitor becomes 1440*900 /etc.
