I have just installed XP and cannot figure out how to set my system to open
a new window in an enlarged screen. It only opens up a small screen about 2"
x 3" and is very annoying. Can anyone help. Thanks.

Move the window to the upper left of the screen. Resize the window by
dragging the lower right corner. Close the window from the File menu
instead of the red X. (or close the window with CTRL-red X). It should
then reopen the size you left it.

No, that's how default window sizes are set in Windows.

Hi, H.B.

What kind(s) of windows? Internet Explorer? Some specific program? Or all
windows?

The procedure Colin outlined is the standard and usually works. If it
doesn't, it may be because there is a setting within the program you are
trying to open. If we knew the name of the program, we might be more
specific.

A setting that often works (but not always) is to right-click the program
file - or its shortcut - and click Properties. In the Run line box, you can
set it to Maximized, Minimized or Normal window.

Tell us more and we will have a better chance to help you solve your
problem.
