I have just got an Asus P5w DH Deluxe Board and it seems the Realtek ALC 882 onboard sound is a pain in the arse! first off I tried my usual nightly ritual of running Ventrillo server and then jumping into a Battlefield2 server with some mates, the dolbyheadphone setting was on and I was all amazed at the virtual surround sound I was getting! then came the looping sound and performace hit?

Is this ALC882 a bag of crap and should I put my Audigy2 back in?
Seems a shame that the board is so good yet the soundcard is crap not to mention the onboard wifi which had me pinging and jumping about all over the place?

Pff! any answers or have I paid £116.00 for a board which has a crappy little remote to fast forward and rewind in windows media player?

any answers would be great !

cheers chaps

Onboard sound is notoriously of poor quality.
Get some better sound and take a load off of the CPU by reinstalling your sound card.
