Is there a way to provide sharing to a folder that would
allow access via
thae application from client stations but not by browsing
through the back
door with network places. The current situation is that
clients/users need
file/view/delete rights to the shared folder containing
Tif images, but they
should'nt be allowed to "see" the images via browsing.
By example can
"browsing" capablities be disabled yet maintain the
share. Thanks in advance.

Adding $ to the end of a share name will hide it just like the hidden administrative
shares. Hidden shares can still be referred to and accessed by name. Of course it is
not a reliable security measure but meant to keep out the idle curious. --- Steve
