I had an earlier thread asking if a card was DOA, well it wasnt I took it back and they tested it along with the power supply....
My MB specs say 1 x AGP slot (8x/4x-AGP 3.0 compliant), supports 1.5v display card only.
does this mean I can run this card?....

my old one a BFGtech 6800 oc lists is as 8x only ?
According to the specs for your old card, it required an AGP 2.0 (1.5v 8x/4x) or newer slot. This is why your old card is compatible and the new card may not be. Your Mobo only supports 1.5v on the AGP slot (which is odd for an AGP 3.0 slot as these are supposed to support 1.5v/.8v). I would put the old card back in and check the BIOS to see if there is an option in there to change your agp voltage to .8v. I just noticed in the specifications for your mobo that agp voltage is adjustable in the BIOS!! Good Luck!
