More about start
  1. On my system (Asus P8 Z68-V LX motherboard, I5 2500K CPU @ 4.2 Ghz, 2 x 4GB RAM @1600 Mhz) it takes around 17-18 seconds from a 7200 RPM HDD, and 8-9 seconds from a SDD. I could probably improve on that a little, but I don't think .8 seconds is realistic. Besides, even 18 seconds is fast enough that I wouldn't care if got any quicker.
  2. Maybe if its waking up from sleep or booting from a ram drive... Even then its still not very realistic.
  3. 1 second is unrealistic. at least 1-2 seconds is automatically taken up by the bios boot screen(assuming the mobo has something similar to Asus' fast boot where the screen just loads past quickly)
  4. My Samsung RF711 Laptop with a Crucial M4 SSD, configured as UEFI, I get around 3 seconds from Power switch to log-in prompt (cold boot); if I removed the DVD from the boot sequence I may be able to trim a little off that.
