I have a netgear router (see title for model) which I purchased about 2 years ago. I hadn't downloaded any firware upgrades for it until today. Before, without any upgrades, one of the ethernet ports wasn't working--it didn't give any connection to a computer connected to that. Today, when I downloaded the upgrade, only two of the four ethernet ports are now working, the ones which correspond to the status lights labeled 3 and 4. All the computers in the house are connected to the modem via the router. All the cables are cat5e. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, that would be awesome as the netgear site is being totally useless. If there's more info I should give that I didn't post here, just tell me and I'll try to figure it out. Thanks in advance for your help.
The problem might be in your cables or the Network Interface Cards of the computers. Try a known working cable on the ports that seem to be not working. Try connecting the computer to a known working cable and port.
See if that helps.
