HI, I have build a new pc a while back, but untill now I did not realize that my UPS is inadequate(1000AVR/500W, cyberpower), when my pc just did shut down, during an autage

I was planing on buying a new UPS to protect my build, I was looking for a good quality, relatively high AVR, not necessarely having a long batery time(, somethign that would just let me shut down the pc safely, my psu is 480W, and im using a 17" lcd , for now)

Ill probably be getting one of the new dx10 cards during winter 07(high end vga, but not the top one probably, with a new psu, with more amps, and Watage)

So far I found this one to be ratehr good:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16842102048

does anyone know if it would be sufficient?
Any other good ups's? reliable ones?

Thank You for all comments

APC makes good UPSs. I have 3 ES 500s and never had a problem, always enough time to shutdown. They have much more powerful ones as well. Worth looking at

Ya know where you should really start? At the replacement batteries COST. Some UPS's batteries cost more than the unit, or slightly less. Find yourself a nice BIG UPS with a cheap replaceable battery, then buy a used on off ebay or something for next to nothing and put in a new battery. I have a $150 UPS that costs $30 for a new battery. That's a bargain, like $10 a year. Most ups's cost $100 and the batteries cost $80.

Go down to costco or sams club and get a 1000 VDC apc or tripplite or Backups....all 3 are great.

500 to 750 VDC's rated UPS' are good for a pc with a 15 inch monitor.

Never plug ur laser printer or inkjet into the ups.
