Hello,
I'm a noob at this.
system: core2 duo E6600@ 2.4mhz; Mobo DQ965GF; Super Talent 1GB @667 'All Stock'

I tried to flash my mobo from xxx.CO5718 to xxx.CO5773. the flash was successful in all but failed in updating 'firware ID'. the PC still posts and when i enter the bios it says xxx.CO5718 (old) i can change normal options, all hardware, memory, etc are displayed correctly. but the system hangs after displaying the intel splash screen, and it has an 'EB' in the lower right corner.
I tried the bios recovery (exactly as inidicated on intel site). I tired to recover to xxx.CO5718 and xxx.CO5773 (each separetly on diff CDs and as indicated by intel)
the Bios image is read from the CD, the screen would be off. then after it finishes reading, the screen powers on with nothing to display or post. the system seems to be hung as the numlock does not turn on/off. i power off the pc, restore the jumper, power on. then same stuff. it posts to the screen, i can enter the bios, bios is still the same version. and it hangs after the splash with an 'EB' at the lower right.

Any ideas please on how to rectify this.

thanks

Go into the Bios and configure it again. The configuration was lost after the Bios change.
You need to set the boot order again, so it searches for the hard drive.
