Ok, at first we were confirmed that the ATI X2800XTX had 64 4-way shaders..
now the last inquirer link says they're 128 "conventional" shaders ( IE, one way )
so im wondering, whos right, whos wrong, and at the end, what will be the official specs? o_O
ifthese 128 are 4 way shaders, wondering if these were increased from the default 64 due to pressure of Nvidia and the 8900 with more shaders ( 160 )
take any news from the inq with a grain of salt. no one knows what the X2800 is going to do untill it is released to reviewers etc. , and beware "leaked" info...
I've heard this from many other places now that the amont of shaders is 128. You look at the 64 @ 128 operations/cycle that it said before, I bet you that ATI changed it to say 128 just so that there was no confusion to what was better when compared to Nvidia.
Every rumor you see posted online until the cards are actually in people's hands and legitimate reviews are presented, are entirely that-just rumors.
Some might be true, or partially true. Most will be completely wrong. It's pointless to try and figure out whats what. In a few weeks the cards will be officially out, and we'll all know for sure. Till then it's anyones guess.
Think back to just before the launch of the 8800. Less than a month before the launch some places were saying the card definitely wouldn't have unified shaders and would require 300+ watts to run. The launch of the card proved thing to be dramatically different.

actually, at first they said ( even on vrinfo and other sites )
it was 64 x 4
so thats 256 shaders per cycle
