I'm looking on getting a new router for my home network and just wondering if anyone out there can leave me their opinions on what router I should get. Thanks!
Wired. 10 computers. Sharing internet and files.
Just that I already do have a router but it always jams up with packets (I'm guessing) and I always end up resetting it to get the internet back up and running.
looks like you might want to throw in a switch, ... switch allows no network collisions....... 10 computers... hmmm Router and a Switch should do the trick
Oh I do have a switch already. Cable modem to router, router to switch. But still my router gets jammed and when it jams everyones internet gets extremely slow and just stops working until the router gets reset and everything becomes perfectly fine.
<""everyones internet gets extremely slow... until the router gets reset"">
lol, you should make a line and one of the everyones you have must be at the router at all times, as soon as it slows down, everyone screems and the one hits the reset button so everyone can be happy again, of coarse thanks to the one that was chosen from everyone.

Well that nice 60 dollar router won't cut it. Look into an 8 port router, but it'll cost you. It will come with a better chipset that can handle more connections and route them better.
Bypass the switch if possible as that could be your problem and not your router.
Most routers now come with a built in switch of at least 4 ports. You'll just end up spending more money getting 2 pieces of hardware. If you can manage with one, great. The less hardware in the way probably the better - in your situation.
DLink, Linksys, etc. anything that is on sale and will save you a buck or two would do it, they all do the same thing for different amount of money, brother of mine has LinksysB, I have DLinkG, do the same thing, mine is faster in file transfer
