What does AUX mean in Speedfan program? Mines hot!
I have a stable overclock with my e6600 at 3.2ghz and in the speedfan program I'am getting a reading of my AUX temp of: 125-127c. What exactly is aux? I've run TAT and Orthos only getting my cpu temps up to no more than 54 degrees C. Any one know?

Everyone has AUX 127. No one knows what it is. You can uncheck it in the Temperatures list in SpeedFan to ignore it. It's probably not a fan, as fans do not have thermal sensors. At least I don't have any thermal sensors on on my fan, and I still have AUX 127. I think AUX indicates a failure to read a thermal sensor that simply doesn't exist on the motherboard. Maybe they removed it at some point.
What motherboard is it, btw? Also, what I was asking was which other temps were being read.
Not everyone has the AUX 127 chip. I know I don't...
This may just be a pointer just pointing off into space on the ISA bus. The number 127 is significant, as it is one away from being the decimal representation of the last one of an 8 bit number. Since things in computers are generally numbered 0-whatever, the number 127 could possibly be the last allocatable "thing" (for lack of a better word) on this interface. For some (as yet) unexplained reason, the program is picking up this thing and "reading" it, showing the temperature being the highest temperature (I suspect) speedfan can represent, 127 degrees (0 to +/-127 degrees, either scale). Perhaps if you switch the readouts to using Celsius and the "temperature" stays the same, you can attribute it to a hardware malfunction/program bug, and disable it from being shown in your view.

May i ask what your final settings are for that overclock. Will be building my E6600 machine on tuesday and am looking to get at about 3.1-3.2
Sure, thanks to someones advice I changed the multiplier from 9 to 8 and then the frequency to 400mhz which will give you 3.2ghz and a 1600 fsb and enable you to use your ram at, for instince mine 4-4-4-12. It's very stable, here's my specs:
