absolutley not. Imo its the easiest and most enjoyable thing to change. And btw 10.5 volts is a bad thing. You probably need to chnge it. You could get a nice 450w and be fine

i have three different programs telling me that the rail is only 10.5.what would cause the faulty readings?is it the sensor monitor on the motherboard? i opened up the case and its an AGI 350w power supply. thanks.

Have you manually measured the voltage? You can measure the 12 v. output on a drive power connector between the yellow and black wires. Use a digital meter. They tend to be more accurate than the analog meters.

Hi all,

I've had a similar problem with my (naff) Antec TrueControl550.

The +5v shows +4.6 after post (in BIOS) then drops slowly to 4.19 or so. At about 4.20 the HDD's click off and on and off, etc.

After 10-12mins the voltage levels out at 4.7v and is fine thereafter.

Hard drives have survived this but it looks like an IDE channel is kaput now.

Upgrade approaching soon I guess :D Minus Antec PSU
