Hi,

I want to overclock my E4300 to 2.7ghz-3.0ghz

At the moment I'm at 2.0ghz and hitting 65c load (tat) and 35c idle ish with the stock cooler. The cooling in my case is as good as its gonna get.

I am trying to choose between a TT120 and a AC7Pro. The problem is there is only about 15.8cm clearance in my case (TT requires 15.5) so I'm a little reluctant to buy it only to find out it wont fit....plus the ACF7Pro is quite a lot cheaper.

So, my question is, what temperature reduction should I expect for the TT relative to the AC?

Thanks

Have you set your BIOS so the hsf runs at max speed all the time? If not, do so and see what your idle and load temps get to. What's your ambient temp?

Hi,

ambient temp is 24

I moved the case to a location with more airflow. With the fan on max my temps are now

idle 28c
load (tat*2) 60c

Can anyone tell me how much better the tt120 is over the artic 7 pro in terms of relative temp drop?

Thanks

From what I have read, if you move your case around alot, or you may have to move it around a bit in the future, the Tuniq Tower 120 is a risky choice because of how heavy it is. I've also read that it is a very good cooler.

I just bought an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro that I haven't installed yet. I wanted something that wouldn't restrict my mobility (It isn't a super amount lighter than the TT120, but it is lighter none-the-less, and I have read many good things about the ACF7P. You can find a ACF7P online for as little as $25. I got mine plus some Arctic Silver 5 for like $40 shipped.

I have an E6300 and I only plan on doing the same thing as you, overclocking to about 3.0 ghz. I'd be happy with 2.5 ghz really. 100% confident the ACF7P will keep my temperatures adequate, based on what people have told me.

Surely someone has done a test that includes the tt120 and the arctic 7? does anyone remember one?

Thanks
