Edit: I wonder if it's pity, more marketing for AMD, however, I don't think this will sell cpu's.... just fill job slots. Wonder how they will pay the employees though :?: Edit2: IOUs or free cpu's:!:
If you will notice the payments to Dell stopped when Intel came out with the Core 2 . Intel would have ranked higher were it not for their questionable business practices.
It's nice to know amd is pulling their game together and is gaining market share again, I was starting to get worried after that last major price drop occurred, this is the first time in history you can buy a native dual core for only a tad over $100 (x2 3600 brisbane), but if they get enough money, they can really put in a lot of effort for barcelona to make it perfect and reasonably priced compared to their dual cores on the market right now (and hopefully more overclockable :? ), then they will really be pwning intel. I also hear that ati is starting to show it's worth, and that's not counting the upcoming r600, and dual gpu version of the r600. Once amd gets the lead back, then we're about to see a major cpu war, which is excellent for the average consumers like us (feel bad for the enthusiasts though, especially the ones who just have to have the top systems on the market), and price will go down immensely with the upcoming 45nm's, so amd will price competitively once those come out, I just can't wait, this going to be amazing

I really need to get out more!
when not many people wants a hot and bulking cpu ( p4 ), Intel obviusly HAD TO PAY to bigger makers to keep pushing them no matter what
now with a good technology that beats the prior one by way a lot, they dont need to pay these "pushes" (I wonder if michael dell was angry at this, and thus inmediately changed to AMD )
True, but if you ask half the people even here, they will tell you the fastest cpu on the planet is the pentium extreme 965 at 3.73ghz, while we know that was demolished by the amd fx's, which were demolished by even the lower conroes. Half the market is just switching over to amd, while only the enthusiast market and people with knowledge of cpus are switching back to intel or are waiting on barcelona, you have to keep that in mind when discussing the average consumer market
