importing pc-need to know sth

it may sound a bit unorthodox here, but i live outside the US but i will be gettin a few pc parts from there. but do they impose duty on these kind of stuffs?? the total cost might be around $1000. i will basically get everything except for the casing.

( they did this in some other countries.)

The import duty is charged by the importing country not the exporting so the US will not charge you for exporting. Depends on your country. In Mexico we have 0% importing duty from stuff coming from the US but you still have to pay local tax which is 15%. We have a $4000dlls limit when importing stuff on your own, if you want to go beyond that, you have to do it through a customs agent.
