I know there are alot of these posted on this forum, and I'm afraid that I'm just one more in the masses that would like some techie god to swoop down and tell them if their PC is allright. With that said I feel that my e6600 is runnign a bit warm for no reason. My specs are:

Antec 180p - Case
Intel Core 2 Duo - E6600
Radeon X800 Pro
Intel 965LT - Motherboard
Coolermaster RR-LCH-P9E1 92mm CPU - Fan

No extra case fans outside the standard 3-speed ones that come with the case. The fans are running on low speed.

I ran both TAT, and CoreTemp and both said each core was running around 62 - 67 degrees C no simulated load on the processors. This seemed a bit warm, but that was just me. Any suggestions?

What are your variables?

Frequency =
Vcore =
Load = 0%???
Ambient =

Have you read the C2D Temp Guide?

Freqency = 2397.61 MHz
Vcore = 1.3250v
Load% = on average about 30%-60%, upwards of 75% when I'm multi-tasking.
Ambient temp. = around 70-75 degrees F.

It's a bit strange. Nothing has changed in my system, but in the 6-some hours between when I posted and now, my idle temp has changed to 55-60 C. and 65 when on 100% load from TAT.

Mid-range loads only serve to confuse temperature analysis, so please disregard these figures.

Have you read the Guide? Are you running an Intel motherboard monitoring utility for CPU temp? If so, what are the idle and load values?

Thanks. 8)

Yes I read the guide, Im using Intel's "Desktop Utilities" tools to monitor other various aspects of my computer, but it doesnt give me any idle and load values. Any suggestions on where to find these. I have TAT, Core Temp and the Intel Desktop.

This is at idle, my sidebar cpu meter shows sparratic load on each core from 0-15%.

The monitor tool gives me:

Processor Themral Margin (stays around 37ish degrees C)
processor fan speed (570 RPM)
5 motherboard temps:

Motherboard Temp : 40
Motherboard Temp : 37
Motherboard Temp : 34
I/O Controller Hub (ICH) : 63
Memory Controller Hub (MCH) : 49
Power ranges for different power outputs:
+12v (12)
+5v (5.152)
+3.3v (3.308)
+1.5v (1.259)
Processor Vccp (1.134-1.128)

and it gives me various hard drive specs.

Thank you for the info. Now that we have the idle figure, all you need to do is run TAT 100% load, while observing Processor Themral Margin to get the load figure. This will complete the puzzle so we can analyze your temps. 8)

I ran TAT at 100% for about 2 minutes while watching the themal margin. It went from around 35 to 17. My fan speed up to about 1000 RPM, and the temps hit around 66. I also figured out that the windows vista sidebar takes alot of processor time, which was causing my processor to run about 5 degrees hotter than without it. With the sidebar disabled my temps are significantly cooler, but they are still in the low 50's.
