Buying a Conroe e6600: What is ES abbreviated for?

Hello, can anyone tell me why the letters ES are associated with the e6600? I would like to know their meaning. Sorry if this is a silly question but I have already searched the forums and google.

ES stands for Engineering Sample. They are the chips used in pre-release testing and benchmarks. ES chips often have different revisions (Steppings) than the final release, and are not supposed to be sold.
