xp for game rig

is xp home version going to be any good on a gaming rig???
iv'e got a couple of dos games & presume these wont run on xp (its hard enough on windows me)
will there be much preformance gain over me/98se (in general)???

Any DOS game will not run on XP. Most my games work with XP except Red Faction (which ironically is brand new and still in BETA). Older 16 bit games won't run well either. But, if your that concerned you could always do a dual boot.
