My wife's Dell desktop (after a nighttime thunderstorm) will not permit her to log on. When she enters the password she gets the following message: "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded". Has anyone encountered this issue and is there a user fix, or should we take the computer back to where it was bought for service? (still under warranty)
Corrupt profile, login using another acocunt with admin privaleges, create a folder and call it c:\wifes copy her data to it. Delete her old account including any data and then create it again. Login using new account, copy data back to original locations.
Boot into safe mode and try to login with the administrator the try those steps. Also, if you make a new account, just to be safe, use the exact same credentials after deleting her account. If you still have trouble accessing after recovery come back here, if this works.
