Six months ago I bought a Sapphire X1600 Pro AGP video card in an attempt to breath some new life into my old system. At that time Vista RC1 came out and I installed it, but due to driver errors I had many problems with it and in the end returned to my old video card. A few days ago I decided that I would upgrade and starting with the CPU I bought a Duo Core E6400 and an Asrock 775i65G Rev2 motherboad which I thought would allow me to use the X1600 Pro video card I bought 6 months earlier.
However, I can not get the videocard to work, the DVI port appears to not give any signal to my LCD monitor (Viewsonic VX924), and the VGA connection gives me vertical bars of around 1cm in width of solid color (generally yellows and reds), I cannot even see the bootup screen. In the end I had to put my old video card in and made a clean installation of Vista. With the old card (in the same AGP slot) everything works fine, but when I try the X1600 Pro I have the same problems of no signal although windows is running (I checked using the remote desktop from my notebook).

Has anyone had similar problem or any ideas as to how I can solve this, or alternatively does anyone have the same hardware running smoothly in which case it would suggest that I have a problem with the hardware?

Wow! dude sorry you got no replies till now! 8O Possibly your card has taken a dump on ya. Are you able to run the card in another system to see if it works then? when un-installing/ re-installing the drivers are you using "driver cleaner" to do it?

another thing is how manny watts is your PSU?
what is the amp reading for the +12v rail?
