Dual monitor problems with a Laptop

So I saw this article:

And decided I will go ahead and do the same thing too with mine. I have dual Dell 20 inch Widescreens... and the exact same specs as him

Sony Vaio S170P
ATI Radeon 32MB (he has the 64.. but it shouldn't be a problem)
PRS1 docking station
1 GB RAM

I can get the LCD of the laptop on and one other external monitor on, but I can't seem to get both to light up and have the notebook LCD off.

I tried variations of
DVI (docking) + VGA (Docking)
DVI (docking) + VGA (laptop)
Laptop closed + both VGA and DVI in

I tried different settings on graphics properties... I updated drivers.. what else!
