I am still in the process of deciding between Sony 60" Grand Wega and
Samsung 56" DLP. I saw pictures of the back of both and the Samsung
has a PC audio/video jacks. Does this mean I can plug my computer
directly into the TV without worrying about converters? Would I need
drivers or would it work just as my current monitor works now? I know
my current Sony 32" Wega works, but it shrinks the screen to the point
where I cant read the text...but it is nice for movies/tv shows that I
have downloaded and can play directly on TV. Would this TV do the
same...and how would the Sony work? Currently, I use the Sony through
an S-Video jack, but it seems to me the direct PC plug for Video would
work much better, or am I assuming incorrectly?

Thanks.

Chris,

I have the Samsung 56" DLP and indeed you can hook up the PC directly to
the TV's PC port. All you will need is a standard VGA cable and you can
have a very nice and clear display at 1024x768 resolution. In that mode
it can display in "normal" aspect with black bars on either side or in
"wide" (stretched) aspect to fill the entire screen.

In our condo clubhouse we have the 61" Samsung model and use it with both
Mac and PC laptops for presentations.
