The SPTI is the scsi interface DVD & CD devices use to
talk to their related software - player/burner/etc.

NT/2K & XP do not have the ASPI native as the 9xs do.
It can be installed of course but not by users.

I'm developing a small program that can use the SPTI if
no ASPI is installed but need to check on startup if the user
has the necessary privilege(s).

What is the name of the privilege (Token) ? SE_ ???
Or is there a program I can use to identify or view the
needed service ? ( showpriv was no help ).

thanks for any help,

bill mudd
