Cant afford new 8800. Know a guy with a 7900GT KO with a zalman 9700 wants a100-120. Good deal? (EVGA factory overclock580 at 1580).
Heres my question: how would you test it? I have heard some about "artifacts"? Your help appreciated!

yes a 79gt at 100-120$ is a good deal.

to test it just hook it up and play.

if you want to test it try something like (3dmark 05)
should score a 10000 or more.

Sounds like a very good deal. What current specs are you using on your computer right now to insure your 7900 is compatible with your computer?

I am putting together parts for a 4300 build when prices come down a little more: ds3, centurion 5, fortron 450, caviar 250, undecided burner.
Can I download 3dmark05? Thanks again!
