Larry:
The HD channels from NYC I have little info about.
Many of The HD systems in NYC were destroyed by
the 9-11-01 Twin Tower event.
The key info for selecting an Antenna for HD
TV reception is knowing: Current Tower locations
(determines aiming angle), HD signal strength,
and HD transmitting frequency (VHF or UHF)..
If the distance is about 30 miles....
and HD channels are all OTA UHF...
then a Channel Master 3021 (4 bay bow tie)
will do a nice job.... No TERKS !!
I'm just back from a freebie HD STB test
for HD in Oshkosh, WI.. (EAA Planes overhead !!!)
From 40 miles away.. Received well 4 of 5 HD stations...
Also received 1 of 2 SD digital stations well.
Signal Strength was 7, 8, or 9 ticks of 9 on T-151...
The 2 stations from GBay, WI not received were
at 20% and 50% Power levels...
These related NBC/UPN stations will go full
Power Aug. 13... Day of the Olympics...

Larry,
I'm in Little Falls NJ...about 20 miles from NYC. I get CBS(HD),
ABC(HD),and digital UPN, FOX, PAX and PBS (Channel 50)
I am communicating with an engineer from NBC. They are prepared for a
signal as strong as CBS, but they are waiting for a combiner device to
be completed t the Empire State Building. There should be some certain
news in about a week or so. There is pressure to get things together for
the Olympics. Once the combiner is running, WPIX, UPN, FOX, WNET, will
be on the map for everyone.
