Hello,
it's an interesting security problem. And I'm looking for an easy
solution (if exists on :))
Some users in our company run a software development deployment on a
windows xp (which is in the domain and our domain is w2k native). We
don't want to let users logon more than 1 times. So these users can't
logon to their pc (w2k pro) and to this deployment pc at the same
time. So we want these users to run a batch or exe from their
computers and start the deployment in the xp computer. We are trying
to use the psexec (from pstools) to run a batch file from the client
computers on the xp deployment machine. As the users are normal users
They don't have any privileges other than the default ones. So we get
some credential errors when we run the psexec from the client pcs. We
don't want to give them a common user. We don't want to give them any
other privileges than the others. One solution that I find is to start
the deployment when some start.txt file exist in a hidden share. And I
will give a batch file or exe file to these users to create a
start.txt file in the hidden share. And ı will configure a
scheduled task with a user with enough permissions to check for the
txt file. If the txt file exist so run the deployment. We have some
difficulties to run the schedule. So I need some help here. What can I
do? Is there any other way to solve this problem
Thank you
