Word is from creative that they'll be no new sound drivers for vista until sometime in march

Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?
Here's the current Creative Vista drivers.
32 Bit
64 Bit

FYI: EAX is not supported by Vista. I know...how stupid.

So what they wont make eax in vista? So that means i bought my x fi for nothing?

Reply to WacoTaco

I didn't say that you bought it for nothing!
Actually, in Vista they decided to use the OpenAL audio standard instead. Older games do not support this, and will not benefit from the hardware acceleration of your X-Fi. On the other hand, almost all new games (Ever since UT 2004) have support for OpenAL, and therefore will be accelerated by your X-Fi. Its just a new audio standard, thats all.

I have the same issue and I don't like the sound of that. I thought I was unable to have EAX because I'm using beta drivers.
So you're saying that there'll be no EAX support at all?

Pretty Much. Read this article, I found it rather useful and informative. Open AL and Vista

Wow! I'm glad to see that Creative is undertaking such a project. I'd be interested to see how that affects performance.
