1st build in 8 years, i have read and re-read these and other forums, but i wanna check with y'all to make sure that I'm not a freaking retard.
Building a gaming/encoding comp, but i have a few minor questions.
I want a nice OC 3.5-3.7Ghz. E4300,E6300, E6400 or E6600 because Ive read about some bad E6600's a not being to be OC'd well at all.
Tuniq tower120 runs cooler than 9700 as they say.
Should i go with the BFG 8800 OC, XFX Superclocked , or just buy a regular model and OC it my self?
PB5 Deluxe OC's better than DS3 right? Cant afford Commando, or Striker, but could they sustain my preferred OC?
I believe the memory is the best with this board, would dominator be worth it? Is there anything wrong with OCZ?
Is the PSU too much, should i go with the 520w.

CPU- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600- $315.00
HSF- Tuniq Tower120- $54.99
Thermal Interface- Shin Etsu X23- $8.00
Motherboard- ASUS P5B Deluxe- $178.99
Memory- CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-6400C4- $234.00
Video Card- BFG 8800GTS 320MB- $309.99
HDD-2x- Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB- $189.98 ($94.99 each)
PSU- CORSAIR 620W- $169.99
Case- Sunbeam AC-9B-HUVB- $79.99
Removeable Media- SAMSUNG - IDE DVD Burner /w LightScribe - $33.99
Total comes to around $1574.92

Am I missing anything, Budget is kinda flexible but looking for best price/performance ratio. Also I'm not sure if a plan on upgrading too much, it took me 8yrs to build this one been playing WoW on my Intel 667mhz lagging too much only in IF, SW and large scale raiding.
All comments are wanted and welcomed.

Looks fine.
Except, go with the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610. Best for a highly OC'ed 6600, AND an 8800 OC'ed. Same price as your first one, yet 10x more quality.

Thank you for ur input, however i am using a entire Acrylic case, need modular cabling to help keep it tidy.

also plz address my questions and comments, thank you for any and all input.

It can but it would run a little hot and risking instability its better if you go with 3.0 or 3.2 ghz which is a pretty decent Overclock.

You should be able to reach 3.5ghz with around 1.4 vcore and 3.6ghz with around 1.43 vcore with an E6600. The Tuniq should be able to keep it cool.

Why the Antec 900, kinda like the fact i can see everything with Sunbeam AC-9B-HUVB for 1/2 the price of the 900.

BTW you do not have the taco industry cornered.

Yes, I am quite aware about the cooling aspect vs looks, i read you flame the Zalman 9700 and ppl who picked it only based on looks

You have a great build there. But you mentioned price/performance ratio so here are a few suggestions:
MB: Gigabyte DS3 $133 (very good overclocker)
http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/ga-p965-ds3/14.html
PSU: Silverstone Strider 600 watts and modular $130
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817163109
http://jonnyguru.com/PSU/ST60F/
Video Card: EVGA 8800gts 320mb $300 This a little more overclocked and you can use the Step-up Program if its not powerful enough.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130038
CPU: E4300 $175
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819115013

This would save you $236 with very little performance loss. All your original choices are good though, its all about how much you want to spend.

I went with the BFG 8800 320 because of BFG lifetime warranty, however, could i buy an un OC'd board and overclock it higher manually?

The 6600 is the better chip with twice the cache and if money permits then it is a great choice. The 4300 should be good for at least 3.2ghz so I wouldn't call that bad- you just get what you pay for. The ~$140 price difference is what would be the deciding factor for me, but I'm a cheap bastard :)

You can OC any board but you would void your BFG's lifetime warranty.
I like EVGA boards because the also have a lifetime warranty plus they specifically say overclocking or adding a third party cooling is OK. You only void the warranty if you physically damage the card. The step-up program is also a bonus.

not anymore, that uses promos too, that thing is outdated, only the 8500, 6400c3, 11142, 1111, and 1250 use micron now
That sucks! I just ordered some of the 6400c4. Maybe I will get lucky and get some old stock. How did you find this out?
